Healing from the Frontlines, a conference through the Trauma to Purpose Network
Healing from the Frontlines, a CEU conference through the Trauma to Purpose Network, which Sarah Wilburn and Nicole Sartini will be presenting a segment called: People Over Profit: A New Vision for Ethical, Accessible Behavioral Healthcare.
This presentation sheds light on the long-standing insurance practices that created today’s access crisis and introduces the growing national movement of providers who refuse to accept the status quo. Members of the Mental Health Insurance Reform Task Force will share how clinicians are reclaiming power, demanding parity enforcement, and building new models that place community, equity, and healing at the center of care.
This session also explores how an Evidence Based Practice approach supports mezzo-level work, including interdisciplinary dialogue and collaborative learning around disparities in behavioral health insurance systems. Participants will learn how social capital, relationship building, and strategic group process contribute to meaningful macro-level changes in law, policy, and programming. Together, we consider how a mutually respectful, transparent, and collective model of provider leadership can shape a more ethical and accessible future for behavioral healthcare.

People's Solidarity Fund Interest meeting
This meeting will give you an opportunity to hear more detail about the healthcare cooperative we are building and to ask any questions or share ideas that you have. Attending this meeting does not mean you are officially signing up to participate. The PSF pilot is KY based, but we are building and launching alongside other states in order to share knowledge and support each other, so other states are welcomed to get involved and use the model we create and build upon in their own states.
This meeting will require registration.

Insurance Advocacy Town Hall
Join OCA's Ohio Association for Counselors in Private Practice (OACPP) and Insurance Advocacy Committee (IAC) for a special Town Hall on Insurance Advocacy on November 21, 2025 from 12-1pm EST, where we’ll explore how mental health professionals can unite to strengthen our collective voice and impact in Ohio’s evolving insurance landscape.
This session will feature a presentation from an attorney who will guide us through the legal and strategic aspects of forming trade associations and clinically integrated networks (CINs) — two collaborative models that can help providers advocate more effectively, negotiate with insurers, and protect professional autonomy while staying compliant with legal and antitrust regulations.
We’ll discuss:
* The current challenges in provider–insurance relationships
* How trade associations and CINs function
* Opportunities for collaboration and collective negotiation
* Next steps for building sustainable advocacy efforts in Ohio
This town hall is an opportunity to learn, connect, and take part in shaping the future of insurance advocacy for counselors and mental health professionals across the state.
