The Original 2024 MHPAEA Final Rule

In September 2024, HHS, Labor, and Treasury released a final rule to strengthen enforcement of mental health parity by setting clearer requirements for nonquantitative treatment limitation analyses and response timelines. The rule was designed to address ongoing disparities in mental health and substance use disorder coverage, but it has since been paused, so this reflects the original 2024 final rule rather than the rule as currently in effect.
